SEDH 2×10. Diego Olmo Ferrer, transformative simulation and FLASH model

On June 15, 2026 , at 12:30 p.m. , Ràdio UMH will broadcast a new episode of Simular es d’Humanos , the podcast dedicated to clinical simulation and patient safety promoted by the Clinical Simulation Area of ​​the Miguel Hernández University.

On this occasion, the guest will be Diego Olmo Ferrer , director of Emergency Medicine at the Regional Unit, director of simulation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of East Anglia and member of the executive committee of ASPiH , the British Society for Simulation in Clinical Practice.

During the conversation we will address some of the most relevant and innovative topics of current clinical simulation. We will use the FLASH model , an in situ simulation methodology developed to integrate training activities within daily healthcare practice, and explore the potential of transformative simulation , an approach that seeks to improve not only the competencies of the professionals, but also the processes, the equipment and the healthcare organizations.

The episode also allows us to understand the differences between the medical training systems of Spain and the Regne Unit, along with the importance of international collaboration in the development of clinical simulation.

The episode, presented by Sergio Javaloy Ballestero , clinical simulation technician, is part of the initiative of the UMH Clinical Simulation Area (ASCUMH) to disseminate the value of simulation in improving patient safety.
