UMH visits: we resume visits by pre-university students to ASCUMH
Within the framework of the commitment of the Clinical Simulation Area of the Miguel Hernández University (ASCUMH) to education and the promotion of clinical simulation as a learning methodology, we have resumed visits by pre-university students in this academic year 2024/2025. This initiative, started last year and framed in the “UMH Visits” program of the Communication, Marketing and Student Assistance Service, aims to offer high school and higher education students an experience close to the clinical simulation environment, exploring our facilities and learning about the importance of patient safety in the training of future health professionals.
This Wednesday, October 30, we received students from Colegio El Valle, and on Thursday, October 31, it was the turn of the MEDAC students. In both visits, the ASCUMH technical team showed the different simulation rooms and explained how the equipment works, including skill trainers, patient simulators and other technologies. In addition, essential concepts of clinical simulation were highlighted as a tool for the acquisition of clinical and non-clinical skills and its fundamental role in patient safety.
Through these visits, ASCUMH aims to bring pre-university students closer to health training, offering them an educational experience that combines theory and practice in a safe and controlled environment. A total of five visits are planned for this first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, which will allow us to continue promoting clinical simulation among young students and future health professionals.
