The Clinical Simulation Area at Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (UMH) has hosted the fourth pilot test of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for the <\/span><\/span>Pharmacy Degree<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> . This initiative is part of the progressive implementation of the OSCE as the final degree assessment, a model that allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the professional skills acquired by students throughout their university studies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The test was conducted at the clinical simulation facilities on the Sant Joan d’Alacant campus and involved 71 fifth-year students. Through a circuit of simulated clinical stations, the students faced common situations encountered in pharmacy practice, demonstrating not only their knowledge but also their ability to apply it in real-world contexts. The competencies assessed included pharmaceutical care, medication dispensing and prescription, communication with patients and other healthcare professionals, and the promotion of the safe and responsible use of medications. This format allows for observation of student performance in controlled, yet highly realistic, scenarios.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The organization of this fourth pilot edition required the participation of a large multidisciplinary team of 20 evaluators, including university professors from various fields and professionals from community and hospital pharmacy. In addition, 10 standardized patients contributed to the realism of the different scenarios presented. The activity was also made possible thanks to the collaboration of the <\/span><\/span>Faculty of Medicine<\/span><\/span><\/a> , the Clinical Simulation Area of \u200b\u200bthe UMH, the <\/span><\/span>Innovation and Technological Planning Service<\/span><\/span><\/a> (SIPT), and the <\/span><\/span>Technical Support Service for Teaching and Research<\/span><\/span><\/a> (SATDI), which provided support in the coordination, logistics, and technological aspects of the test.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With this fourth pilot test, the Faculty of Pharmacy continues to advance in the consolidation of the OSCE as a key tool for the evaluation of competencies, reinforcing training oriented towards professional practice and the real needs of the health field.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
