The Clinical Simulation Area of \u200b\u200bMiguel Hern\u00e1ndez University (ASCUMH) participated in the <\/span><\/span>13th National and 1st International Congress of the Spanish Society for Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> (SESSEP), held from April 15 to 18, 2016, at the Sant Joan de D\u00e9u Teaching Campus in Barcelona. Under the motto “Simulating the present to build the future,” the annual meeting brought together professionals and leading centers to share experiences, innovation, and advances in clinical simulation and patient safety.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In this context, <\/span><\/span>ASCUMH<\/span><\/span><\/strong> presented a poster titled \u201c <\/span><\/span>Simulating is Human<\/span><\/span><\/em> : A Podcast to Promote Clinical Simulation as an Educational and Patient Safety Strategy,\u201d a scientific outreach and knowledge transfer project in podcast format that aims to bring clinical simulation closer to the public. Developed in collaboration with <\/span><\/span>Radio UMH<\/span><\/span><\/a> , this podcast combines interviews, reports, and educational content, and features a broad network of healthcare and academic professionals, both nationally and internationally, addressing key topics such as patient safety, teacher training in simulation, and the use of organizational methodologies like <\/span><\/span>SimZones<\/span><\/span><\/em> . All of this is presented through a narrative format with carefully crafted sound design.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since its launch in October 2024, the podcast has established an accessible and participatory format, with the active involvement of students in scriptwriting, production, and communication. This initiative, led by <\/span><\/span>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ramos Rinc\u00f3n<\/span><\/span><\/a> , Innovation Coordinator at the Vice-Rectorate for Planning and Social Responsibility of the UMH and Professor of Clinical Medicine, and\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Sergio Javaloy Ballestero<\/span><\/span><\/a> , Communications Technician and responsible for editing and sound design, not only contributes to disseminating the value of clinical simulation as an educational tool, but also fosters transversal skills such as critical thinking and teamwork.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Participation in <\/span><\/span>SESSEP 2026<\/span><\/span><\/strong> has provided an opportunity to share this experience with the international community, generate synergies with other centers, and continue promoting a culture of patient safety. Furthermore, the congress offered firsthand insights into emerging trends such as the integration of artificial intelligence, high-performance team training, and new management models in simulation centers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These types of meetings reinforce ASCUMH’s commitment to educational innovation and dissemination, and consolidate clinical simulation as a fundamental pillar in the training of healthcare professionals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
