The event marked a milestone for UNPHU and for medical education in the Dominican Republic, as it implemented a practical assessment model based on structured clinical stations. The test consisted of 14 stations of varying types, in which students had to demonstrate clinical competencies, communication skills, and decision-making abilities in simulated scenarios.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The OSCE benefited from the active participation of university faculty and staff, who assumed the roles of standardized patients and evaluators, thus ensuring the realism and objectivity of the process. This approach allowed for the assessment not only of theoretical knowledge but also of clinical performance in situations closely resembling professional practice. A key element in the development of the test was the use of the open-source software <\/span><\/span>OpenECOE<\/span><\/span><\/a> , developed by UMH. This tool facilitated the comprehensive management of the assessment, from the organization of stations to the recording and analysis of results, contributing efficiency, traceability, and transparency to the process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The visit of Professors Ramos Rinc\u00f3n and S\u00e1nchez Ferrer reinforces the academic collaboration between both institutions and consolidates the commitment of the UMH, and in particular the Clinical Simulation Area, to improving training and evaluation in health sciences through innovation and joint work.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
